Biography
Dr. Sofia Alvarez investigates how organisms and ecosystems respond to climate change and the biological mechanisms that enable adaptation. Her research combines experimental approaches with computational methods to better understand complex ecological systems.
As Head of Adaptive Life Sciences, she leads interdisciplinary research initiatives that integrate evolutionary biology, microbiology, and environmental sciences. She is particularly committed to open research practices and international scientific collaboration.
In addition to her research, Dr. Alvarez mentors early-career scientists and contributes to projects that translate scientific discoveries into practical strategies for biodiversity conservation and climate adaptation.
